krolik confronts the lion spirit of the forest, lyov. he is the guardian of the forest surrounding the tiny civilization. (hence, 'citizens of lyov') they say he protects them from the outside but krolik thinks he is trying to keep them in.....?? ?

The eyes really draw me in and his expression really says a lot.
